About the work
For Fels, we have two of Freya’s unique ceramics alongside a special collaborative piece. All the items are thrown in stoneware clay, altered and assembled then fired in stoneware glaze with iron red and cobalt blue oxides and gold lustre decoration.
Frenchie is a slim, handled vessel, unpatterned with blocked colouring of iron red and cobalt blue instilling a warm, minimalistic elegance. This is a bottomless vase; a sculptural item for display or holding dried flowers.
Infinity Swan is a beautifully poised and expressively decorated fully functional stoneware vase. Epitomising Freya’s process, the cultured form is paired with playful infinity surface marks, resulting in a unique translation of something reminiscently traditional.
Genie, one piece from a series of collaborative works with friend and interior designer, Pallas Kalamotusis of Studio Krokalia, blends Freya’s craftsmanship with Pallas’s Greek flourish. It sees the long-necked, bottom heavy vase patterned with decorative cobalt blue and gold lustre. A fully functional and watertight vase created out of friendship and fun.
